In October 2024, Garli Medi Tech was honoured to be selected as part of an Austrade-led trade mission to Malaysia and Singapore—joining a hand-picked group of innovative Australian businesses exploring market opportunities in Southeast Asia’s fast-evolving health and technology sectors.
Co-founders Michael Barlow and Lundberg represented Garli Medi Tech during the week-long mission, engaging with healthcare providers, distributors, regulators, and technology stakeholders across both countries.
Showcasing MediFusion to a Global Audience
“We were thrilled to share MediFusion with health leaders in Malaysia and Singapore,” said Michael. “Both markets are investing heavily in digital transformation and aged care, and we were able to demonstrate how our platform could address real challenges in these areas—particularly for ageing populations and communities with limited access to traditional healthcare infrastructure.”
Strategic Market Insights and Relationship Building
The trade mission, organised by Austrade, included curated business matching sessions, market briefings, site visits, and networking events with public and private sector stakeholders. This immersive approach gave Garli Medi Tech direct exposure to real-world market conditions, business practices, and partnership opportunities.
“Austrade created the perfect environment for meaningful engagement,” Darren said. “From health tech clusters in Kuala Lumpur to aged care facilities in Singapore, we had quality conversations with people who are actively shaping the future of healthcare in the region.”
The mission also served to reinforce Garli Medi Tech’s long-term vision—to build cross-border collaborations that improve healthcare access, quality, and equity throughout the Asia-Pacific.
“We see Southeast Asia as a key region for collaboration and impact,” said Darren. “This mission has helped us take the first steps in building relationships that could change lives.”
